A limited edition of hand-engraved glasses with motifs by artist Tereza Brichtová was created on the occasion of the Tereza and Giardino exhibition at GASK in 2024. In the exhibition of large-format watercolors entitled Tereza and Giardino, the author worked with motifs of a metaphorical garden, symbols, and memories.
For added enjoyment and beyond the scope of the exhibition, a limited edition of glasses with two motifs was created in the masterful execution of the artistic engraver Jára Šára.
What is the story behind the glasses? The glasses with red glaze originally come from the Egermann glassworks in Nový Bor, where they were purchased as part of a clearance sale of the last remaining stock. The Egermann glassworks was founded by the glass technologist and painter Friedrich Egermann. It was he who popularized the technology of "red coloring," in which the dark ruby red glaze of each piece is subsequently decorated by cutting and engraving. The ruby-colored glasses are decorated with two motifs: a palm paradise with a monkey vs. a tulip calyx with a bee.
The limited edition of glasses includes a total of 25 pieces of each motif.
